Most people just place photos and artwork anyway on the wall, however there are unique ways to display your artwork, photos, paintings, so as to create an appealing gallery wall at home. You can have a mix of photos, artwork, paintings and even mirrors.
Here is an opportunity to make a personal statement at home. You can mix paintings and photographs, black and white and colored photos or high and low pieces.
1. Arrange the photos on the floor in different layouts and take pictures to help decide which layout is nice before putting up on the wall. Or you can get someone else to help with the arrangement and decision. Just have fun with it.
2.Decide on where to create your gallery wall.If you are hanging them above a furniture, leave at least 8 inches from the base of the photo and the top of the furniture. Place photos or artwork on eye level, it shouldn't be too high or too low.
3. Create a palette: You can use artwork with different colors to create a colorful display or use artwork that has a similar color palette that will complement the existing color scheme in the space.
4. Tell a story: You can tell a story of your travels and experiences with photos from recent trips or artwork from different countries visited. It can be a real conversation starter.
5.Frame your photos and artwork with unique and beautiful frames. For a clean look, frames in the same color and style can be used. You can also mix and match frames, so they will look more creative.
6.Go off center: Your photos don't have to be centered, you can display them left or right of a centered piece.
7.Mix and Match: Photos, Artwork, Mirrors, Paintings can all be mixed together, to get an eclectic feel.
Finally and most important to remember while creating your wall gallery, there is no laid down rules for creating one. Just be creative and have fun, while making a statement and showcasing your personality.
