Home Explanations you don't owe Anyone.

Most people feel the need to always explain our homes to people or say I'm sorry or Welcome to my humble home, as soon as guests come into our homes. Please don't feel you owe anyone who comes to your home any explanations for your design or living choices. NA UR HOUSE.... ENJOY YOUR SPACE!!!!!
Here are 8 reasons, why you don't owe anyone any explanations.

1.Living in a small place if you can afford more: There are those who feel that bigger is always better and the number of cars you own determines your success, understanding how you will decide to leave in a smaller apartment and save money may elude them, but FORGET THEM. Leaving under your means is definitely one way to have more money to invest or do other things like building your own home.

2. Living in a big home with too much space if you can afford it: If you can afford living in a 3 bedroom apartment ALONE, when you can afford it, THAT'S COOL.If you have got the financial resources to fund a bigger space to fit all your interests from a gym, jacuzzi to a study, please GO FOR IT. Abeg....Enjoy and don't feel that you have to explain why you have all that. Living the way you want, after all the hardwork, is a worthy way to spend money.

3.Splashing your home with lots of colors: If you decide to use all the colors in the rainbow, please do but do it consciously and have an eclectic but beautiful design concept. Your home is your source of inspiration so use your favorite colors.

4.Using minimal colors in your home: If you are the minimalist and are okay with cool and relaxing colors ENJOY!!! Don't let anyone tell you to add a pop of color to your home. NA U GET HOUSE...Just smile at them.

5.Not buying anything new: Your home doesn't have to look like a CATALOG. If you can't afford new things please go for what you can afford, choose tasteful designs and patterns and tell those who don't mind their business, that you like VINTAGE.

6.Buying new things: If you don't like VINTAGE, there is nothing wrong with buying only new things if you can afford it. Please fill your home with any catalog pieces, NA YOUR MONEY.

7.Using your space the way it works for you: If you decide not to have a guestroom but need the space for a study or home office please GO AHEAD. Don't listen to people asking why you don't have a guestroom. NA U DEY PAY RENT, so use your home how you want to and not how people think you are supposed to.

8.Never inviting people over: Sharing your homes with people is one of lives pleasures and relationships matter, especially in NAIJA, however for some the home is a very private place and don't like people invading in it. THAT'S OK. The KOKO IS... NA YOU GET YOUR HOME. SO ENJOY IT.

Please don't let anyone intimidate you or make you feel bad about your choices. So what do you think, please share your comments. If you like what you read, please like us on Facebook.

  1. Now, that's the way to tell it like it is. Love the tips. I know that part of the way we live sometimes in this part of the world (living above our means, our interior design approach and so on) is to impress others. Now we know that we don't owe anyone any kind of explanation concerning our living choices. That's so relieving and empowering. Thank you. Will surely remember this piece when making living choices.
