How to add color to a boring kitchen

Your kitchen inspires you to create delicious meals for you and your family, so it should evoke colorful inspiration. You may wonder how can you go about choosing colors for a kitchen and which color will create a welcoming feel. I will highlight tips you can use to add color to a boring kitchen.

1.Choosing kitchen colors should reflect your personality: Do you love cooking or just a novice who wants to improve your culinary skills. Not only do we cook and prepare meals in the kitchen, but in many homes it is a place for conversation and entertaining guests.
You need to ask yourself what colors excite you, could be orange, red, yellow or do you prefer neutral colors? Let your personality reflect in your choice of colors.

2. Adding colors in your kitchen don't have to be permanent: For homeowners the task of choosing colors can be daunting especially when they think they have to live with the colors for years. However, there are many options -to paint, change flooring, counter tops and cabinet colors over the years. Therefore go for what inspires you now and worry about the future later.

3.You don't have to match your kitchen with the rest of your home: With that said, there should still be a feeling of continuity in the color theme in the house. Create a welcoming mood and not a shocking colors when entering the space.

4.Colored cabinets can be mixed and matched: The era of using cabinets that rhyme in color, design and style are gone. In modern kitchens you will see a mix of 1 to 3 colors of cabinets in the kitchen. An island and wall of cabinets can differ in color. But consult a professional for assistance in combining colors and cabinet styles.

5. Lighting can enhance the color of the kitchen: This is the most important factor because it enhances the color and for safety while cooking. Use recessed lights, pendant lighting and cabinet lights.

6. Neutral colors don't have to boring: Eg. browns, white, grays. They can appear clean and easy for cleaning.
However, neutral colors paired with wood floors, silver kitchen appliances and eye catching lighting fixtures can make a difference.

7. Natural wood colors are appealing: Color doesn't have to be just paint colors. Natural wood can be gorgeous and timeless. You can use natural wood flooring or cabinets.

8. Add color with kitchen tiles: You don't have to transform the whole kitchen with color. A touch of color in the wall and floor tiles can add a pop of color to the kitchen.Green, blue, yellow and red tiles can be eye catching.

9.Add primary colors: Red, blue and green. Can be reflected in the bar stools, tiles, textiles, kitchen counter top decor or utensils.

10.Think outside the box: Place colorful fridge magnets on the fridge. Feel free to bring inspiration and creativity to the kitchen.
