Tenants Solution for Ugly Flooring.

Ugly floors can be so annoying. Even worse when you are renting and your landlord isn't ready to do anything to the floor. Relax, fret no more, there are ways you can disguise an ugly floor temporarily without spending so much on flooring and will still be effective. Here are ideas you can use to change the flooring without doing anything permanent.

1. Area Rugs/ Rugs: a large area rug can be used to disguise an ugly floor or minimize the effect or a full rug which will cover the whole space.

2.Carpet tiles: It is flexible and can cover a larger area of floor unlike the area rug. It can also be easily removed in case you want a change or moving.

3.Vinyl Flooring: it comes in different forms, the roll out type or the tile type.It can be placed by using a removable adhesive to fix them to the ugly floor.

4.Floor cloths: for kitchen flooring, you cant use area rugs, however floor cloths can be used. It will cover the floor area and it is very easy to wash.

5.Laminate flooring: This is my favorite flooring, it may seem expensive but the good thing is that it is removable so you can remove it when moving house. It is also beautiful and keeps the house cool.

Please let us know how you have been able to disguise your floor in your apartment, without removing the initial flooring.

  1. I feel you on this one. Landlords and their annoying floorings. But "There is God" and He's watching on His flat screen. Praise be to Him for alternatives like you mentioned above. Have used a number of them and looking forward to the day I will be moving, can't wait to peel them off the ugly floor. Thanks Jennie. Have been reading your blog but, has been very busy. Always a fan and a partner.
