Color blocking kids rooms.

Color blocking is the new trend in home decor; which involves using two or three harmonious colors that look great together, then repeating them throughout the decor theme.
A kid’s room is perfect for trying color blocking, giving it a stylish, colorful and playful look and feel.
The dynamic result adds a fun element, with the added bonus of having your child happier about spending more time in there. If you’d like to try color blocking in your child’s room, here are some ideas to get you started:

How to choose a professional painter.

With all the tips I have being sharing, you should be in the process of creating your dream space or considering it. You need to engage a professional to bring your ideas to life. Deciding on a professional painter can be a daunting task.

Below are steps you need to hire a professional.

1.Ask for recommendations from friends and family: Ask questions like
- The painter's charges
- Was the job properly done
- If there was an issue and was it rectified immediately

2.Most paint companies have their professional painters like Dulux. You can ask for their charges too. If affordable worth the stress.

3.After deciding on your preferred painter, call them up and book an appointment.  Note the following
- Did the painter keep to time
-Did he get a clear understanding of what you want
-Request for a color chart
- You can ask them questions like the kind of finish they would use for a high traffic area or treatments for a damp wall, just to know how knowledgeable they are.

4. If satisfied, request for a written quote with details of quantity of paint, type of paint, areas to be painted and workmanship.A written quote is a must because a verbal quote can be conflicting.

5. Ask for guarantee, that the job will be well done.

6. For large jobs or contracts, please ask for references. Just to have an idea the companies he has worked with, so you don't get into a mess.

7.Get at least 3 different quotes before you make a decision.

Good luck!!!!

Revamp your dining area

Dining rooms are one of the hardly created space in most homes. Most people don't have room for a separate dining room. However most homes have a dining area in the living room or kitchen whatever the case maybe, which is great, but we need to spice the space up and not let it look like a collection of chairs and a dining table.

Is hiring an Interior Designer Luxury? Yes or No

I have noticed that people have no issues paying a painter, carpenter, plumber or other artisans for a job, but hiring an Interior designer for a fabulous and beautiful job seems like LUXURY.
Professionals hire accountants to do their taxes,so the accountant can save them money. It doesn't matter how much they pay, because they would save more money hiring a professional.

Ideas for creating a Nursery in the Masters bedroom.

I and my husband shared our bedroom at night with each of our children for a little over three months.
Thanks to me, the idea of breastfeeding at night and having to go to a separate bedroom was tiring.
Ladies I guess you feel me (LOL), however I knew it was a temporary solution, and, as such, no decor changes were made to our bedroom. But what if there is no other nursery waiting for your little bundle of joy? What do you do?

What I have been up to.... Moodboards

Hi All, thanks for being faithful readers. I was given a brief to come up with a design for Jadesola. Find below the brief and let me know which mood board you prefer. A Mood board is a collage that consists of images and samples, which communicates to the client or design team what design concepts you have in mind.

Creating a focal point in your Master bedroom

The Master bedroom should be everyone's sanctuary. It is where we can show our creative sides without wondering what anyone thinks. It should reflect your style and personality. Whether you want a calm, relaxing or romantic atmosphere in your masters bedroom, it all can be achieved.

Fun ways to get the kids to clean up this Holiday

Hmmm, Easter holidays are here again and if you are like me wondering what to do with kids this holiday, engaging them in house chores won't be a bad idea. Apart from watching TV and going out we should be able to engage them in other useful activities, which will pay off in the future. Kids from three years should be encouraged. Even if you have helps, a little chore won't kill. ( That is my opinion)
