Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”
– Oprah Winfrey
On Thursday, I started a Certification course in Interior Design and AUTO CAD, because I realize the importance of acquiring more knowledge. As I got into the class the owner of the Design School, after introducing myself, said NICE BLOG. For a second, I was shocked, considering I was just meeting her for the first time, but was really motivated knowing she reads my blog. Before the class started she asked why I was enrolled on the course considering I had the knowledge of Interior Design. My answer was PASSION. My passion motivates me to want to learn more and share my knowledge with others.
Walking into a supermarket today, I heard someone call out Wallpaper Vs Paint. I turned and saw a young guy who said he reads my blog everyday. It was humbling and before I knew it we started debating about Wallpaper and Paint. I got carried away and forgot I came to shop.
These experiences really motivated me to want to do more and share my passions.
The more passionate you are about yourself, your work, your
life, or whatever it is you are doing…the more positive energy you give off. True
happiness comes when you do what you are most passionate about.
Passion shapes our existence, fuels the fires of inspiration
and opens us up to opportunities and changes around us. Passion is enthusiasm
and excitement for life.
Passion comes when you are being your authentic self and
doing what comes naturally to you. When what you do is in alignment with who
you are, you get energy from doing it. I feel very fortunate. I’ve found my
passion and I’m living it every single day. And let me tell you –it is so
incredibly fabulous to be able to make a living doing what you love!!!
Doing what you love and doing what is in alignment with your
purpose, will be the thing that will motivate you to jump out of bed in the
morning and look forward to the day ahead. Your work is not “work” because it
exciting, rewarding and interesting to you. It’s not a “job” but a passion. You
will find that your work doesn’t seem difficult to you and you put in more
hours than the average person because your work hours fly by so quickly. You
will often lose track time and be so engulfed in your work. When you are doing
what you love, your passion for it is obvious to others and that makes the
difference between a rewarding career and a job.
If you are unhappy and
unfulfilled in your current relationship or job, staying in it will not only
continue to make you unhappy, but you are also not allowing yourself the
opportunity to realize your full potential.
Passion enables us to overcome obstacles. Whether those
obstacles are actual or imagined, with passion you will overcome them and see
the world as a place of infinite potential. The power of passion also enables
us to have self-confidence, trust ourselves and to take the risks required to
live every day to its fullest.
Living with passion is about having the courage to express
your thoughts, opinions, convictions and your love for life. That love for life
comes because you live a life by design, not by default. Following your passion
enables you to do so. That is the power of passion!
Dare to imagine what living a life filled with passion is
like, dare to imagine the possibilities, dare to live your dream, and dare to
actually search for what you love. Know that it is not only a possibility, but
a probability to live with passion…if you have the confidence! With confidence
and passion, anything is possible!
I hope you’ll challenge yourself to live with passion and
take risks and take action. So that you too can LIVE LIFE FULLY!
Here are a few tips for you to help discover what you are
passionate about:
1 – Determine what are you good at
What are your skills, talents and gifts? There are things
that you are naturally good at and enjoy doing. Often people forget about
things they excel at because they come so naturally. Think back to when you
were younger, as far as you can, to jobs, projects, hobbies. Maybe you always
been a good writer, artist, organizer, creator, builder, teacher and friend?
Spend an hour thinking about this and make a list of all your answers.
2 – Determine what excites you
Is it a part of your job that excites you? Is it a hobby, a
side job, something you volunteer your time doing? Maybe it’s something that
you do as a spouse, a parent or a friend. Maybe it’s something you haven’t done
in awhile. Spend an hour thinking about this and make a list of all your
answers.
3 – What do you spend hours reading about?
When I get passionate about something, I’ll read about it
and research it for countless hours. That’s a very good indication of something
you could be passionate about!
“If you don’t know what your passion is, realize that one
reason for your existence on earth is to find it.”
